I would be very interested to hear what take others might have on the meaning of the Aqaba Joint Communique. Documents such as these emanating from the US State Department are usually meticulously phrased and nuanced. This one - given that the meeting held in Aqaba was attended by two Israeli and PLO senior officials who have been negotiating secretly for two months - is particularly significant.

After all - there is no point in Biden flogging the 2016 UN dead horse if two of the parties to the Arab-Jewish conflict have already buried it.

Your analysis of the Aqaba meeting is very insightful and I hope you’re right. The fact that they didn’t mention the two state solution would obviously mean that they are looking for new options and ideas - and the Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine makes historical, social, and political sense.
